Professional golfer, Tiger Woods, will not play at this week's Chevron World Challenge in California citing injuries from his car accident in Florida on Friday.

I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week, Woods wrote in a post on his official Web site on Monday.

I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I'm very sorry that I can't be there, Woods added.

The American number one will not participate in any other tournaments in 2009 and will only return next year.

Details of the crash are not clear and according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), charges are still pending.
