- Hawk praised Rae for introducing skateboarding to the new generation
TikTok star Addison Rae was in for a surprise when she met skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, who gave her a special skateboard and a few critical skating tips and tricks.
In a video posted on Rae’s YouTube channel Monday, Hawk presented the TikTok star with a custom skateboard from Chipotle in an indoor skating park. The board came with a humorous slogan that included her viral “bad bleep” meme.
“I am going to surprise her at Eric’s skate facility with her very own Chipotle celebrity burrito skateboard cart,” said Hawk before Rae entered the skating arena.
The custom skateboard was presented as a token in place of the franchise’s Celebrity Burrito Card. The gift card that is offered to select celebrities, athletes and public figures allows them to get one free burrito daily. While some say that the free burrito opportunity is for life, others claim that celebrities can make use of the card only for a year.
Rae was lucky enough to get not just free burritos and a custom skateboard but also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train with one of the most renowned skateboarders in the world.
“I think it’s really cool that you’re introducing skateboarding to the new generation,” Hawk told Rae.
“Especially girls, ‘cause it is the great equalizer. It’s all-inclusive. I feel like, if kids can just see how fun it is and what it can do for them, they’ll want to do it. I feel like you’re really promoting that well,” he added.
Rae promoted Hawk’s organization, The Skatepark Project, to her viewers, adding that anyone can look it up on the internet and choose to donate.
“We helped develop skate parks in areas. We’ve been going about 20 years and we have helped to provide over 900 skate parks,” said Hawk, giving more details to all those interested in donating and getting a skate park made in their area or town.
Rae spent a productive day with Hawk, and while she is a long way off from mastering his skateboarding techniques, she picked up some useful tips from a legend.
