‘Time After Time’ TV Series: 5 Things To Know About The ABC Show Before Its March 5 Series Premiere
2017 is the year of new TV shows! ABC is releasing a new series, named “Time After Time,” on Sunday, March 5 at 9 p.m. Based on the 1979 novel of the same name written by Karl Alexander, the plot chronicles the life of renowned author, H.G. Wells.
Not sure if you should watch “Time After Time”? Here are five things we know about the show:
1. If Jack The Ripper Time Travelled
According to the official synopsis, Wells (Freddie Stroma) builds a time machine in 1893 London. He is friends with a charismatic man named Dr. John Stevenson (Josh Bowman). During this time period, a series of grisly murders take place in the alleyways of London. The murderer, known as the infamous Jack the Ripper, is loose. Authorities quickly learn that Dr. Stevenson is the notorious and psychopathic killer.
When the Scotland Yard come to arrest Dr. Stevenson, he uses Wells’ time machine to make an escape. Soon, he finds himself in modern day New York City. Wells pursues his friend and engages in a deadly cat-and-mouse chase. However, the author is disheartened to discover that the modern era isn’t the utopia that he imagined it to be.
2. A Star-Studded Cast That Includes “Revenge” Actor Josh Bowman
It’s been a while since fans of “Revenge” have seen Bowman on TV. Unlike his former character Daniel Grayson, Dr. Stevenson/Jack the Ripper is an out-and-out villainous character.
“Time After Time” also stars Genesis Rodriguez as Jane Walker, Nicole Ari Parker as Wells’ great great granddaughter Vanessa Anders, Will Chase as Griffin and Jennifer Ferrin as Brooke.
3. Two-Hour Series Premiere
Episodes 1 and 2 of Season 1 will air on March 5. In the second half of the series premiere, Wells will meet his great great granddaughter and continue searching for Stevenson with Jane’s help. However, Wells’ face-to-face meeting with Stevenson goes horribly awry and he is back to murdering people. Things get even worse when Jane discovers through the time machine that she will be killed by Stevenson three days later.
