Tina Fey, Amy Poehler's Continued Golden Globes North Korea Jokes Were Racist And Tacky, Twitter Users Say

The Sony hackers might have tried to intimidate Americans by threatening violence against anyone who saw “The Interview” in theaters, but Amy Poehler and Tiny Fey continued to make jokes about North Korea throughout the 72nd Golden Globe Awards. The pair proved there was no topic too taboo, even if their jokes weren’t well received on Twitter.
Fey began with, "Tonight we celebrate all the television shows that we know and love, as well as all the movies North Korea was okay with."
“The biggest story in Hollywood this year was when North Korea threatened an attack if Sony Pictures released ‘The Interview,’ forcing us all to pretend we wanted to see it,” Poehler joked.
“North Korea referred to ‘The Interview’ as ‘absolutely intolerable’ and a ‘wanton act of terror.’ Even more amazing, not the worst review the movie got,” Fey said.
Many netizens took to the mini-blog Sunday and thought the jokes about North Korea were in bad taste and even racist.
I love Tina and and I love Amy and I love when they’re together but I do not love the North Korea jokes. #GoldenGlobes

@CitizenScreen The North Korea bits dragged or were awkward at times, but I'd rate them better than that intro. True comment about OITNB!
