Tips To Help You Get That Summer Glow Safely
Summer is fast approaching and that means sun, fun, and beaches, amongst other things. However, if there is anything that perfectly encapsulates the feeling of summer, it would have to be glowing summer skin.
During the summer, almost everyone spends their days at the beach making the most of that vitamin D pouring down in heaps. This activity, in turn, gives everyone that summer glow that stays well throughout the summer season, and even after. So, with summer just a few days away, here's how you can achieve the perfect summer glow for your skin.
Exfoliate
The perfect summer glow is characterized primarily by smooth skin and exfoliating is the key step in achieving this. Skin cells are replaced by your body at an extremely fast rate, so what happens to the dead skin cells that are being replaced?
Well, they stay there at the top layer of your skin and this is the main cause of dull-looking skin. In order to get rid of all those dull, dead skin cells, you need to exfoliate to expose the smooth, new skin underneath. Exfoliating is a key step and not one you want to skip as you will never achieve that summer glow without doing it.
Tan safely
If there is another thing summer is known for, it is tanning. Everyone takes advantage of the sun being out to get a nice tan, and this is a part of what gives you that summer glow.
However, there is a very thin line between a nice tan and an excruciating sunburn, and it can be very easy to cross that line if you are not careful. Too much of something can be a bad things and truer words have never been spoken when it comes to tanning. With this in mind, make sure to tan evenly and not to stay under the sun too long.
Use sunscreen
Summer means sun exposure for a prolonged period of time, and while this gives you a chance to work on your tan, it also puts you at risk of skin problems because the suns UV rays are actually harmful to your skin. In addition to aging skin cells, prolonged exposure to UV rays increases the risk of developing skin cancer.
To protect your skin against the UV rays, experts suggest using at least 50 SPF sunscreen. In addition, be sure to re-apply every few hours to maximize protection against the sun’s harmful UV rays.
