T.I.’s daughter, Deyjah Harris, has opened up about her father’s controversial statement that he would have her hymen checked by a gynecologist every year to ensure her virginity.

As expected, the rapper’s statement had an adverse effect on his daughter, who talked about the controversy during a recent episode of “T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle,” People reported.

"Things are completely uncomfortable for me right now. We're all together in this house, so I have to see my Dad and be around him. And we're in a foreign country so it's not like I can leave and get away," the 18-year-old admitted.

She went on to describe the moment she learned of T.I.’s remarks, recalling that she first saw it when she was tagged in a tweet. Immediately, she saw the word “gynecologist,” and right then and there, she already knew what the fuss was all about.

“My heart sank — very shocked, hurt, angry, embarrassed. I mean, honestly, I'm embarrassed definitely for sure," Deyjah confessed.

T.I.’s daughter added that she has been putting the matter at the back of her mind since she was a child and understands that this habit is unhealthy, Just Jared reported. Deyjah revealed that her father had been going with her to the gynecologist since she was 14 or 15 and that she couldn’t “have said no.”

Deyjah became emotional as she admitted things have been “awkward and uncomfortable” between her and the artist after T.I.’s hymen statement. Before the frenzy, she said that their relationship was “pretty decent.”

Latrice, T.I.’s mother, talked to him about it and encouraged him to talk to Deyjah, which he refused to do.

"I told a joke that was laced in truth, also [with] a lot of major embellishments. I was speaking past tense. People thought I was speaking present day,” T.I. said.

In November, the 39-year-old artist clarified his statement after the massive backlash he received when he revealed that he has been accompanying his daughter to the gynecologist to ensure her hymen is still intact. During his guest stint on Jada Pinkett Smith's "Red Table Talk," he said that he exaggerated and people seemed to have taken his words literally.
