Chase Chrisley is speaking out for the first time about his parents Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley's prison sentencing.

The "Chrisley Knows Best" star, 26, recently appeared on his sister Savannah Chrisley's "Unlocked" podcast, during which she pointed out that he was the only family member who hasn't taken the time to publicly address their parents' respective sentences.

"I think that I don't owe anybody an explanation," Chase said in response to his sibling, People reported. "I don't owe the public an explanation. I don't need to explain how I feel to anybody, other than the people that I care about and that I love."

He noted that it was obvious that they were in a "terrible situation," but he said he was trying to "find the good" even during the "darkest time."

"I feel like throughout everything that we have been going through, it has made me appreciate things I did not appreciate as much in the past. It's made me do a lot of reflecting and just kind of figuring out who I am now as a man and who I wanna be in 10 years, and then 10 years from there and 10 years from there," the reality star added.

Chase also said he's "not going to worry about what everybody else [in] all the world is thinking and saying" about him. Instead, he said he's focusing on making sure that he's "good" for his fiancée Emmy Medders.

"I have to make sure my family is good emotionally and that I am in a place emotionally where I can be there for my loved ones," he continued. "So that's why I haven't really said anything on Instagram or anything like that because I feel like I've been doing the work behind the scenes. And that's going to pay off and I'll just let my actions speak for what needs to be said."

In June, Todd and Julie, who were accused of exaggerating their earnings to banks in order to borrow more than $30 million, were found guilty of five counts of bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States and one count of tax fraud.

Additionally, Julie was charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of obstruction of justice after being accused of creating a fake credit report and false bank statements to rent a home.

On Nov. 21, Todd was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, while his wife got a seven-year prison sentence. The couple will also have to serve 16 months of probation for their crimes.

After their jail terms were handed out, Todd and Julie reacted in one episode of their "Chrisley Confessions" podcast, saying they are living every day as if it's their last and have been relying on faith.

"Age is just a number, and since we don't know our death date, we have to live every day as if it's our last," Julie, 49, said.

"Yesterday doesn't matter. Today is what we have. Tomorrow belongs to God, because we're not promised tomorrow," Todd, 53, added, echoing his spouse's sentiments. "What God calls us through, he will walk us through."

The celebrity couple said in another episode that they could not share details about their case because their lawyers have filed an appeal against their sentences.

Based on the documents obtained by People, Todd and Julie were ordered to report to their respective Florida institutions on Jan. 17.

Todd will serve time at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, while Julie will be at Federal Correctional Institution Marianna.
