KEY POINTS
- Reports claimed Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have already hired divorce lawyers
- The couple is reportedly figuring out how to divide their multimillion-dollar properties and assets
- Brady and Bundchen are both involved with the kids, so they will likely have joint custody
Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen could be heading for divorce since the latter has hired a divorce lawyer and the former is looking for one, according to a report.
Sources confirmed to People that the supermodel has already retained a divorce lawyer following months of "tension" with her husband. The two have reportedly been living separately following an "epic" fight.
An anonymous source told the outlet that the NFL superstar is "trying to figure out what to do" following his wife's move. Brady is also reportedly looking for a divorce lawyer for himself.
Meanwhile, multiple sources told Page Six that both have already retained divorce lawyers. The celebrity couple is reportedly looking at how to divide their multimillion-dollar assets.
"I never actually thought this argument would be the end of them, but it looks like it is," an anonymous source told Page Six. "I don't think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be."
Insiders close to the former Victoria's Secret Angel and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said that both are very involved with the children, so they will have joint custody in case they split. Brady and Bundchen, who married in 2009, share a son, Benjamin, 12, and daughter, Vivian, 9. Brady is also a dad to Jack, 15, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan.
International Business Times could not independently verify the claims.
Brady and Bundchen's reps did not reply to People and Page Six's request for comment.
Before the reports about the couple hiring divorce lawyers, a source close to Bundchen and Brady told Page Six that there was "no cheating" involved amid their marital crisis. The pair reportedly just grew apart.
"There is absolutely no accusation of cheating on either side," the insider said. "Tom and Gisele have recently struggled to make their marriage work and have grown apart."
Several sources claimed the root of the couple's falling-out was Brady's decision to continue his NFL career. The Super Bowl champ announced his retirement in February but decided to un-retire six weeks later.
Brady and Bundchen haven't made any statement regarding the various speculations about their marriage. But in her interview with Elle magazine for its October issue, the model said she wanted Brady to be "more present."
She also hinted that she's done supporting her husband and was happy with what she had done for her family — seeing her children succeed and Brady fulfilled. So, it was time to pursue her goals for herself.
