Tom Brady has announced that he will be moving on from his career with the New England Patriots in the coming season. “I want to say thank you for the past twenty years of my life and the daily commitment to winning and creating a winning culture built on great values,” he shared on Instagram.

Brady is a six-time Super Bowl champion and is considered one of the greatest players to ever suit up. He’s led the Patriots to success in several postseason appearances. He continues to perform at an elite level in the league.

To add to his credentials, he is also a four-time Super Bowl MVP, a three-time NFL MVP, and has 14 Pro Bowl selections under his name. With all of these accolades, he is often described as the sport’s GOAT.

He was selected in the 2000 draft in the sixth round as the 199th pick. The quarterback out of the University of Michigan has definitely made his impact felt in the sporting world. With his decision to move on from the franchise, Brady is now aiming to add to his already historic resume with his new team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This career move has sparked some noise online on how they likened it to Michael Jordan’s team switch in the early 2000s.

The talk online even ensued this throwback video of Brady and Jordan playing hoops together.

While there are some who are quick to retaliate and share that these are separate and incomparable cases.

Jordan, much like Brady, is considered as his sport’s GOAT. Jordan dominated his era, amounting to six NBA titles via two three-peats. He’s a five-time MVP and is arguably the most iconic athlete of all time.

He then took his career in a different route, bouncing back from retirement and suiting up with the Washington Wizards. He may have completed the perfect ending with the game six dagger against the Utah Jazz in 1998, but the Wizards route saw an additional chapter to his story.
