Tom Brady is opening up about his divorce from Gisele Bundchen for the first time publicly since he and the supermodel confirmed their split.

Days after Brady, 45, and Bundchen, 42, finalized their divorce Friday, the NFL superstar talked about "giving all you can to the team" as a professional athlete while going through personal challenges.

"I think there's a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home," Brady said on Monday's episode of his "Let's Go!" podcast. "Obviously, the good news is it's a very amicable situation and I'm really focused on two things, taking care of my family and certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games."

"So, that's what professionals do. You focus at work when it's time to work, and then when you come home you focus on the priorities that are at home. All you can do is the best you could do," the seven-time Super Bowl champion continued, adding that he will continue doing so as both a quarterback and a father.

Brady went on to admit that having their divorce play out in the public eye made it more difficult. "We all have our unique challenges in life. We're all humans. We do the best we could do," he added.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback credited his parents with teaching him "the right way to do things" and said that his goal is to be a great father to his children and to "always try to do things the right way."

"And to deal with things in your life that have challenges, you wanna deal with them in the best possible way. So, I want to always be able to hold my head high on and off the field, and I'm gonna try to continue to do that for as long as I'm here," he added.

Brady shares two children with Bundchen, son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9. He is also a dad to 15-year-old son Jack, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

The athlete and the supermodel both filed and finalized their divorce Friday, following 13 years of marriage.

Their petition for the dissolution of marriage was signed off by a judge in Glades County, Florida, who officially declared the marriage as dissolved and "irretrievably broken," according to a document obtained by People.

In recent weeks, reports claimed that Brady's decision to un-retire from football caused tension in his marriage to Bundchen. He announced in February his plan to retire from the NFL after 22 seasons but walked back his decision six weeks later.

In last week's episode of his Sirius XM show, Brady clarified that he has no plans to quit playing football anytime soon, saying that "there's no immediate retirement" in his future.

Both Brady and Bundchen are committed to co-parenting their kids. The Brazilian supermodel, who halted her career while married to the footballer, is reportedly already settling into her new life.

Bundchen "has lived her own life for years while Tom played football so she is not afraid to do things by herself," an anonymous source told People.
