Tom Brady humorously responded after a wardrobe malfunction amid the golf match with Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning.
Brady’s pants tore during the face-off golf match. Golf.com, one of the many who caught the wardrobe malfunction on camera, tweeted “Pants under repair.”
Brady seemingly did not take offense on the incident. Instead, he wittingly replied, “Pants wanted in on social distancing I guess.”
ESPN also tagged Brady on Twitter about the wardrobe malfunction and captioned the tweet with “ [emoji: face with tears of joy] [emoji: pair of pants] #TheMatch.”
“Next time I’ll make sure to be wearing my @UAGolf pants,” Brady replied. “[Emoji: Man facepalming] #LessonLearned,” he added.
The game, entitled “The Match: Champions for Charity,” happened on Sunday at Medalist Golf Club in Florida. The event was participated by Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback together with Mickelson, an American professional golfer.
They teamed up and played against Woods, also an American golf pro, and Manning, a former professional football quarterback.
The golf match was organized to raise funds to provide relief for the frontline workers, small businesses and those who need food amid the COVID-19 pandemic, CNN reported.
The players were challenged by torrential rains at the beginning of the event, the news outlet further reported. But it did not deter them and remained committed to the goal of raising more than $10 million for COVID-19-related causes.
Millions of people reportedly tuned in —after all, the gathering of world-class golfers and Super Bowl players only happens once in a blue moon. Within the first 30 minutes of the broadcast, the event reportedly raised more than $1.5 million additional charitable donations.
Woods and Manning won the face-off but Brady left quite an impression among his golf partner, opponents and spectators after he scored a birdie on the seventh hole, People reported.
Woods, Manning, Brady and Peyton raised $20 million at the end of the match, according to the report of PGA Tour.
After the what-was-described as “fun and trash talk filled golf event for a cause,” Brady congratulated Woods and Manning on Twitter. He described their victory as “hard-fought,” while thanking Mickelson for being a coach to him.
