Tom Cruise blasted the crew members of the upcoming movie “Mission: Impossible 7” for not following the social distancing rule while filming in the United Kingdom.
In an audio obtained by The Sun, the 58-year-old superstar voiced his disappointment after seeing two crew members standing too close to one another in front of a computer screen and told them that they’ll lose their jobs if he saw them breaking the rule again.
The “Edge of Tomorrow” star also noted that he and the studio were trying to serve as a “gold standard” for shooting a movie.
“If I see you do it again, you’re [explicit] gone. We are the gold standard. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. Because they believe in us and what we are doing. I’m on the phone with every [explicit] studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they are looking at us and using us to make their movies,” The Sun quoted Cruise, as saying.
In the audio, Cruise also said that they were making jobs for those who lost their livelihood due to the pandemic.
“We are creating thousands of jobs, you [explicit]. I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!” Cruise noted.
The actor further expressed his frustration over what the staff did in the audio clip.
“That’s it. No apologies. You can tell it to the people that are losing their [explicit] homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education. That’s what I sleep with every night – the future of this [explicit] industry!” Cruise added.
The movie has already faced many delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The entire entertainment industry is still struggling to figure out how to start productions with limited resources.
The U.K. has witnessed 1.88 million cases and 64,908 deaths so far. The nation’s capital city, London, has been put into tier-3 of the COVID-19 restrictions after seeing a surge in infections.
