Tom Riley and Lizzy Caplan are married.

Caplan's rep confirmed to Us Weekly that the "Masters of Sex" star tied the knot with Riley in Italy. The romantic ceremony was held over Labor Day weekend.

Riley also shared a snapshot of their wedding on Instagram. "This one seems fertile. She shall make a satisfactory first wife," the groom joked in the caption.

Caplan, 35, and Riley, 36, met in January 2015 while she was filming in London. It was a year later when they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Prague Opera Ball in February 2016. In May of the same year, they got engaged, People reported. Caplan debuted her engagement ring at the "Now You See Me 2" premiere.

According to E! News, the couple prefers to keep their relationship under wraps. Although they have made a few public appearances together, they keep their romance private for the most part. Now that they are married, starting a family is reportedly next on the cards.

In 2014, the "Mean Girls" star graced the cover of Elle Canada, in which she opened up about gender stigma and her concept of marriage. "It's a really conscious choice to be, say, the woman who goes out and works while the husband stays at home," Caplan said. "It's 2014, and if your husband makes less money than you, people ask you if that's 'weird' for you. It’s pretty mind-blowing."

As for raising kids, "The Interview" star admitted that she might not be a stay-at-home mom. Caplan said that though she loves kids, she doesn't want to set aside her personal goals.

"I don't want it to be an assumption that I will be the one to stay home and raise the kids," Caplan added. "Now, I could have kids and want to do that, I have no idea—but from where I sit now, that does not sound all that appealing to me. I really want kids, and I want to be fully involved in their lives, but I don't want to sacrifice my own goals to be a mother."

Instead, Caplan said that she loves the idea of a stay-at-home dad. In fact, she finds it "very sexy." "If there are two working actors and both of them get a job and they have a baby, the woman is going to stay with the baby," Caplan said. "I see it all the time. It just seems very unfair."
