Top 10 Most Downloaded Movies Of The Week: 'Hangover Part 3' Holds Top Spot For Second Week
For the second week in a row, “The Hangover Part 3,” was the top downloaded movie on BitTorrent, according TorrentFreak. Four new movies broke into the list, with “Dead Man Down” and “Iron Man 3” holding the other top spots.
“The Hangover Part 3” is the conclusion to director Todd Phillips’ “Wolf Pack Trilogy” that began in 2009 with the smash hit, “The Hangover.” The “Hangover Part 3” was released May 21 and earned roughly $50 million on opening weekend, making it the second-biggest opening weekend for an R-rated comedy behind “The Hangover Part 2.” It has earned roughly $309.8 million is box offices worldwide despite a "rotten" 20 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Dead Man Down” held its spot at the second most-downloaded movie of the week, while “Iron Man 3,” moved up one position to third. The movies have earned $18 million and $399.6 million, respectively. “Dead Man Down” did a little better than “The Hangover Part 3” with a 37 percent “rotten” rating, while “Iron Man 3” currently has a 78 percent “fresh” rating.
The top newcomer to the list was “We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks,” a documentary from Alex Gibney that takes a look at the controversial organization led by Julian Assange. The film came in as the fourth most-downloaded movie of the week. Other newcomers include “Phantom,” “Admission,” and “The Call.”
