Two of the largest tech companies in the U.S. fired their CEOs in September. Leo Apotheker of Hewlett-Packard and Carol Bartz of Yahoo are out, but Apple also had a CEO who didn't last too long at the top. Steve Jobs hadn't been Apple CEO for a decade when Gil Amelio took over in February of 1996.
