Top After-Market NASDAQ Gainers (SCVL, DELL, FMCN, WTSLA, WWWW)
The top after-market NASDAQ stock market gainers are: Shoe Carnival, Dell, Focus Media Holding, Wet Seal, Web.com Group, ArQule, Immunomedics, Acme Packet, AsiaInfo-Linkage, and EDAP TMS.
Shoe Carnival Inc. (SCVL) surged 5.87 percent to $26.87 in the after-market session. The company's third quarter profit was $9.1 million or 70 cents a share, up from $7.5 million or 59 cents a share last year. Sales rose 6.7 percent to $204.4 million. Analysts had expected profit of 65 cents a share on revenue of $199.61 million. Comparable store sales rose 7.2 percent.
Shoe Carnival expects fourth quarter earnings of 30 cents to 32 cents a share and revenue of $178 million to $182 million. Analysts expect profit of 24 cents a share on revenue of $177.62 million. Comparable store sales are expected to rise 4 percent to 6 percent from last year.
Shoe Carnival increased its full year 2010 earnings outlook to range of $2.03 to $2.05 a share from previous forecast of $1.89 to $1.95 a share. The company raised revenue guidance to range of $737 million to $741 million from previous range of $728 million to $737 million. Wall Street expects profit of $1.92 a share on revenue of $733 million.
Dell Inc. (DELL) soared 5.38 percent to $14.40 in the after-hours trading. The company's third quarter adjusted profit was $875 million or 45 cents a share, up from $449 million or 23 cents a share last year. Revenue rose 19 percent to $15.4 billion. Analysts had expected profit of 32 cents a share on revenue of $15.74 billion.
Dell expects fourth quarter revenue to track in-line to slightly up from the third quarter. The company also said it expects full-year revenue to track toward the mid-point of the 14 percent to 19 percent range set earlier in the year.
Focus Media Holding Ltd. (FMCN) jumped 5.17 percent to $25.83 in the after-market session.
Wet Seal Inc. (WTSLA) improved 5.15 percent to $3.47 in the after-hours trading. The company's adjusted profit for third quarter was $4 million or 4 cents a share, up from $3 million or 3 cents a share last year. Sales rose to $146.4 million from $141.5 million. Analysts had expected profit of 3 cents a share on revenue of $144.13 million. Comparable store sales decreased 0.1 percent.
Wet Seal expects fourth quarter earnings of 3 cents to 5 cents a share and sales of $158 million to $163 million. Analysts expect 6 cents a share on revenue of $156.16 million. The company's board has authorized the repurchase of its class A common stock for an aggregate purchase price up to $25 million.
Web.com Group, Inc. (WWWW) rose 4.10 percent to $7.88 in the after-market session.
ArQule Inc. (ARQL) grew 3.94 percent to $5.54 in the after-hours trading.
Immunomedics Inc. (IMMU) gained 2.94 percent to $3.50 in the after-market session.
Acme Packet, Inc. (APKT) increased 2.84 percent to $41.61 in the after-hours trading.
AsiaInfo-Linkage, Inc. (ASIA) moved up 2.77 percent to $18.54 in the after-market session.
EDAP TMS SA (EDAP) rose 2.19 percent to $4.20 in the after-hours trading.
