Top After-Market NASDAQ Losers (PSUN, FMCN, BRCD, JACK, NUAN)
The top after-market NASDAQ stock market losers are: Pacific Sunwear of California, Focus Media Holding, Brocade Communications Systems, Jack in the Box, Nuance Communications, Healthways, Sanderson Farms, Motricity, RealNetworks, and FSI International.
Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. (PSUN) lost 6.70 percent to $5.85 in the after-hours trading. The company's third quarter loss narrowed to $7.0 million or 11 cents a share from $10.9 million or 17 cents a share last year. Sales declined to $257.9 million from $268.3 million. Analysts had expected a loss of 10 cents a share on revenue of $250.95 million. Same-store sales decreased 3 percent.
Pacific Sunwear expects fourth quarter adjusted loss of 7 cents to 18 cents a share and GAAP loss of 10 cents to 29 cents a share. Analysts expect a loss of 9 cents a share.
Focus Media Holding Ltd. (FMCN) plunged 5.54 percent to $24.02 in the after-market session. The company's third quarter adjusted profit was $51.8 million or 35 cents per ADS, up from $7.9 million or 6 cents per ADS last year. Revenue rose to $137.4 million from $98.3 million. Analysts had expected profit of 33 cents per ADS on revenue of $142.78 million.
Focus Media expects fourth quarter adjusted profit of $52 million to $53 million and revenue for the core business of $130 million to $132 million. Analysts expect profit of 34 cents per ADS on revenue of $141.15 million.
Focus Media announced an increase of the size of its previously announced share repurchase program to $300 million from $200 million, and to extend the termination date of the repurchase plan to June 2011 from February 2011.
Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (BRCD) plummeted 5.26 percent to $5.40 in the after-hours trading. The company's fourth quarter adjusted profit was $66 million or 14 cents a share, down from $73 million or 15 cents a share last year. Revenue rose 5.5 percent to $550.3 million. Analysts had expected profit of 13 cents a share on revenue of $536.59 million.
Jack in the Box Inc. (JACK) fell 4.08 percent to $21.65 in the after-market session. The company's fourth quarter profit was $4 million or 7 cents a share, down from $40.6 million or 70 cents a share last year. Sales rose to $563.21 million from $540.29 million. Analysts had expected profit of 36 cents a share on revenue of $543.25 million. Same-store sales at Jack in the Box company restaurants decreased 4.0 percent.
Jack in the Box expects first quarter same-store sales to range down 1 percent to up 1 percent. The company also expects fiscal 2011 adjusted earnings of $1.41 to $1.68 a share and same-store sales of down 2 percent to up 2 percent. Analysts expect profit of $2.05 a share for fiscal 2011.
Nuance Communications, Inc. (NUAN) dropped 3.33 percent to $16.54 in the after-hours trading. The company's fourth quarter adjusted profit was $100.3 million or 33 cents a share, up from $90.8 million or 32 cents a share last year. Revenue rose 17.7 percent to $309.8 million. Analysts had expected profit of 32 cents a share on revenue of $319.98 million.
Healthways Inc. (HWAY) tumbled 2.62 percent to $10.03 in the after-market session.
Sanderson Farms, Inc. (SAFM) declined 2.27 percent to $43.47 in the after-hours trading.
Motricity, Inc. (MOTR) decreased 2.08 percent to $27.37 in the after-market session.
RealNetworks Inc. (RNWK) moved down 2.00 percent to $3.41 in the after-hours trading.
FSI International Inc. (FSII) fell 1.98 percent to $3.27 in the after-market session.
