Top After-Market NASDAQ Losers (VALV, ADSK, BCSI, INTU, CBAK)
The top after-market NASDAQ stock market losers are: Shengkai Innovations, Autodesk, Blue Coat Systems, Intuit, China BAK Battery, Marvell Technology Group, Polycom, Motricity, Windstream, and Nuance Communications.
Shengkai Innovations, Inc. (VALV) lost 10 percent to $6.30 in the after-market trading. The company said it began an offering of shares of its common stock in a public offering. Global Hunter Securities, LLC and Maxim Group LLC are acting as the joint book runners for the offering.
Autodesk, Inc. (ADSK) plunged 5.68 percent to $34.20 in the after-hours session. The company's third quarter adjusted profit was $75 million or 32 cents a share, up from $61.3 million or 26 cents a share last year. Revenue rose to $477 million from $417 million. Analysts had expected profit of 32 cents a share on revenue of $471.10 million.
Autodesk expects fourth quarter adjusted earnings of 30 cents to 33 cents a share and revenue of $500 million to $520 million. Analysts expect profit of 34 cents a share on revenue of $501.75 million.
The company projects fiscal 2011 adjusted profit of $1.27 to $1.30 a share and revenue of about $1.924 billion to $1.944 billion. Wall Street expects profit of $1.31 a share on revenue of $1.92 billion. Autodesk expects fiscal 2012 revenue to increase by about 10 percent over 2011.
Blue Coat Systems Inc. (BCSI) plummeted 5.54 percent to $25.60 in the after-market trading. The company's second quarter adjusted profit was $18.1 million or 38 cents a share, up from $13.1 million or 29 cents a share last year. Revenue rose 1 percent to $121.05 million. Analysts had expected profit of 37 cents a share on revenue of $121.03 million.
Blue Coat Systems expects third quarter adjusted earnings of 33 cents to 39 cents a share and revenue of $121 million to $128 million. Wall Street expects profit of 40 cents a share on revenue of $126.54 million. The company also announced approval for a program to repurchase up to $50 million of its common stock.
Intuit Inc. (INTU) fell 3.92 percent to $46.31 in the after-hours session. The company's first quarter adjusted loss widened to $39 million or 12 cents a share from $32 million or 10 cents a share last year. Revenue rose to $532 million from $474 million. Analysts had expected a loss of 12 cents a share on revenue of $519.95 million.
Intuit expects second quarter adjusted earnings of 36 cents to 40 cents a share and revenue of $920 million to $940 million. Analysts expect profit of 45 cents a share on revenue of $918.54 million. The company still projects fiscal 2011 adjusted profit of $2.36 to $2.43 a share and revenue of $3.74 billion to $3.84 billion. Street expects profit of $2.41 a share on revenue of $3.8 billion for fiscal 2011.
China BAK Battery, Inc. (CBAK) dropped 2.88 percent to $2.02 in the after-market trading.
Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (MRVL) tumbled 2.85 percent to $18.40 in the after-hours session. The company's third quarter adjusted profit was $307 million or 45 cents a share, up from $232 million or 35 cents a share last year. Revenue rose 20 percent to $959.3 million. Analysts had expected profit of 43 cents a share on revenue of $949.59 million.
Marvell expects fourth quarter adjusted earnings of 40 cents to 44 cents a share and revenue of $900 million to $950 million. Wall Street expects profit of 42 cents a share on revenue of $965.87 million.
Polycom, Inc. (PLCM) declined 2.38 percent to $35.11 in the after-market trading. Independent tests conducted by industry analyst firm Wainhouse Research proved that Polycom telepresence solutions deliver no-compromise high-definition calls at up to half the bandwidth of Cisco and other major competitors and with no appreciable sacrifice in call quality.
Motricity, Inc. (MOTR) decreased 1.89 percent to $28.07 in the after-hours session.
Windstream Corp. (WIN) moved down 1.87 percent to $13.11 in the after-market trading.
Nuance Communications, Inc. (NUAN) fell 1.81 percent to $16.33 in the after-hours session. The company said it launched enhanced, speed-enabled medical transcription services offering, Nuance Transcription Services, that expands Nuance’s clinical documentation solutions portfolio.
