Gainers
Hain Celestial Group Inc (HAIN) shares climbed 10.60 percent to $62.94 in after-hours trading Wednesday. The shares gained after the company had announced that it would acquire some of the top packaged grocery brands like Hartley's jams and spreads and Sun-Pat peanut butter of Britain's biggest food group Premier Foods Plc for £200 million in a cash and stock deal.
The shares of Pacific Sunwear of California Inc (PSUN) rose 9.22 percent in post-market to close at $2.37. The company announced that for the third quarter of 2012, it expects a non-GAAP net loss from continuing operations of between 8 cents and flat per share and same-store sales of negative 2 percent to plus 2 percent. According to analysts, the company is expected to report a loss of 4 cents per share in the third quarter of 2012.
Synopsys Inc (SNPS) shares advanced 2.69 percent to $32.50 in post-market trading. The company reported the third quarter EPS of 55 cents, better than the analyst estimate of 50 cents. Revenue for the quarter came in at $443.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $443.94 million. Synopsys Inc sees the quarter four 2012 revenue at $440-448 million versus the consensus estimate of $451.36 million.
Ctrip.com International Ltd (CTRP) shares gained 2.00 percent and reached $16.30 in after-hours trading. The company shares have a 52-week trading range of $12.36-$43.20 and a market capitalization of $2.30 billion.
Kandi Technologies Corp (KNDI) shares surged 1.84 percent to $4.43 in after-hours trading. The company shares have a 52-week trading range of $1.88-$5.13 and a market capitalization of 129.83 million.
Losers
DFC Global Corp (DLLR) shares slumped 9.64 percent to $18.00 in post-market trading Wednesday. The company reported the second quarter net loss of $3.3 million or 8 cents per share against the analysts' expectation of 56 cents on revenue of $281.2 million.
XOMA Corporation (XOMA) shares plunged 6.54 percent to $3.00 in post-market trading. The company filed a shelf offering Wednesday that would let it sell $100-million worth of common stock, preferred stock, debt securities and warrants.
Kayak Software Corporation (KYAK) shares lost 4.06 percent in the after-hours trading to reach $29.55. The company reported the second quarter EPS of 19 cents, worse than the analyst estimate of 24 cents. Revenue for the quarter came in at $76.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $75.23 million. The company shares gained over 11 percent in regular trading Wednesday.
Semtech Corporation (SMTC) shares dropped 3.31 percent to $23.95 in after-hours trading. The company reported the second quarter EPS of 41 cents, in-line with the analyst estimate of 41 cents. Revenue for the quarter stood at $150.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $149.56 million.
However, Semtech Corp gave lower than-expected quarter three earnings guidance of $0.41-0.45 per share against the consensus estimate of $0.47 per share and $148-154-million revenue for the same period against the consensus estimate of $158.6 million.
RF Micro Devices Inc (RFMD) shares dropped 2.04 percent to $3.85 in after-market trading. The company shares have a 52-week low of $3.45, a 52-week high of 7.89 and 1.09 billion in market capitalization.
