Trius Therapeutics (NASDAQ:TSRX) shares advanced 4.29 percent to $8.50 in post-market trading. Trius’ shares surged more than 8 percent in regular trading on Tuesday after the company announced that it had received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on an application related to its experimental novel antibiotic, tedizolid phosphate. This patent application protects a therapeutic combination of tedizolid phosphate with a currently available antibiotic daptomycin.
YRC Worldwide (NASDAQ:YRCW) shares gained 1.64 percent to $16.08 in post-market trading. The company's shares surged more than 9 percent in regular trading on Tuesday after the company sent official letters to employees on Thursday explaining YRC's reasons for attempting to buy ABF Freight System Inc. and ABF's reasons for rejecting the offer.
