NYSE Euronext Inc. (NYX) shares rallied 21.41 percent to $29.20 in post-market trading. IntercontinentalExchange is in talks with NYSE Euronext about a possible combination, more than a year after ICE jointly pushed for control of the Big Board with its rival Nasdaq OMX Group, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
Sandridge Energy Inc. (SD) shares climbed 7.69 percent to $7.00 in post-market trading. The company announced Wednesday that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its Permian Basin properties to Sheridan Production Partners II, a privately held Houston-based oil and gas company, for $2.6 billion in cash.
Jabil Circuit Inc. (JBL) shares surged 5.55 percent to $19.60 in post-market trading. The company reported first quarter net income of $105.8 million or $0.51 per share compared to $112.9 million or $0.54 per share in the same quarter last year. Adjusted net profit was $127.8 million or $0.61 per share, down from $136.2 million or $0.65 per share last year but topped Reuters estimation of $0.56 per share.
Western Asset Mortgage Capital Corp. (WMC) shares surged 5.06 percent to $22.00 in post-market trading. The company announced Wednesday that its Board of Directors has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.90 per share for the fourth quarter of 2012 and an additional dividend of $0.22 per share, payable Jan. 29, 2013 to common shareholders of record as of Dec. 31, 2012, with an ex-dividend date of Dec. 27, 2012.
Annie's Inc. (BNNY) shares surged 4.72 percent to $36.00 in post-market trading. The company stock plunged more than 4.5 percent in regular trading.
Losers
Accenture Plc. (ACN) shares plunged 5.45 percent to $66.56 in post-market trading. The company reported first quarter net income of $699 million or $1.06 per share, up from $642 million or $0.96 per share in the same period last year and also topped analysts’ estimation of $1.04 per share. Quarterly revenues rose to $7.22 billion from $7.07 billion last year but missed analysts’ estimation of $7.32 billion.
Health Management Associates Inc. (HMA) shares plunged 5.11 percent to $8.56 in post-market trading. The company stock surged more than 5 percent in regular trading.
Freescale Semiconductor Ltd. (FSL) shares declined 4.04 percent to $10.61 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $7.63, a 52-week high of $17.84 and $2.75 billion in market capitalization.
Emergent Biosolutions Inc. (EBS) shares fell 3.82 percent to $15.14 in post-market trading. The company stock surged more than 4 percent in regular trading.
Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd. (GNK) shares declined 3.51 percent to $3.30 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $2.09, a 52-week high of $10.12 and $149.87 million in market capitalization.
