The top aftermarket NYSE gainers on Wednesday were: Torch Energy Royalty, Walter Energy, Citigroup, Jaguar Mining, Freeport-McMoran Copper, Bank of America Corp, Hovnanian Enterprises, HHGregg, Liz Claiborne and JinkoSolar Holding .
Torch Energy Royalty Trust (NYSE:TRU) shares surged 5.54 percent to $3.07 in aftermarket trading sessions. The company stock plunged more than 4 percent in regular trading sessions.
Walter Energy, Inc. (NYSE:WLT) shares surged 4.9 percent to $64.70 in post-market trading sessions after gaining more than 7 percent in regular trading sessions.
Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) shares gained 4.5 percent to $31.35 in aftermarket trading sessions. Fitch Ratings said on Monday that Citigroup is likely to sell its consumer-finance unit even as the lender postponed that effort until market conditions improve, Bloomberg reported.
Jaguar Mining Inc. (NYSE:JAG) shares rose 4.39 percent to $7.13 in post-market trading sessions. The company announced on Wednesday that it has entered into confidentiality agreements with several parties to enable them to evaluate Jaguar with access to due diligence materials.
Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold, Inc. (NYSE:FCX) shares advanced 4.34 percent to $42.10 in aftermarket trading sessions. The stock has a 52-week low of $28.85, a 52-week high of $61.35 and $39.48 billion in market capitalization.
Bank of America Corp. (NYSE:BAC) shares advanced 4.07 percent to $6.90 in aftermarket trading sessions. BAC declared a quarterly dividend of $0.01 per share payable on March 23 to stockholders of record on March 2.
Hovnanian Enterprises Inc. (NYSE:HOV) shares gained 3.75 percent to $2.49 in aftermarket trading sessions. The company stock climbed more than 18 percent in regular trading sessions after Lennar Corp. stated the housing market was stabilizing due to low home prices and low interest rates.
HHGregg, Inc. (NYSE:HGG) shares gained 3.47 percent to $11.34 in aftermarket trading sessions. Analysts at JPMorgan reiterated a “neutral” rating on shares of HGG in a research note to investors on Wednesday.
Liz Claiborne, Inc. (NYSE:LIZ) shares gained 3.46 percent to $9.26 in post-market trading sessions after gaining more than 3.5 percent in regular trading sessions.
JinkoSolar Holding Co, Ltd. (NYSE:JKS) shares gained 3.2 percent to $7.10 in post-market trading sessions. Solar stocks rallied Wednesday on signs that prices for solar energy components were stabilizing.
