Tori Spelling shared her first encounter with husband Dean McDermott and how it ended with them sleeping together despite both of them still being married to different people.
Spelling and McDermott are not afraid to bare it all when it comes to their lives. Spelling shared her first meeting with McDermott and admitted that she woke up the following day with him in her 2008 memoir, “sTORI Telling.”
“It was love at first sight. I fell so hard … Then I noticed he had a wedding ring,” Spelling wrote. “And — oh, yeah — I had a husband too. It was fun to flirt, but I knew nothing would happen … But: Dean and I went to a bar after dinner. And we spent the night at the Cartier Place. The following day when I woke up next to Dean, I had no regrets. Something was really wrong with my marriage. Not only because I slept with this guy — though that certainly wasn’t a positive sign — but because I didn’t regret it.”
At the time, Spelling was married to her first husband, Charlie Shanian for less than a year. Meanwhile, McDermott was married to Mary Jo Eustace whom he shares son, Jack.
In less than a year after their first marriage, Spelling and McDermott got married. However, their marriage wasn’t perfect.
In 2013, McDermott cheated on Spelling with a woman named Emily Goodhand. He reportedly told Goodhand that he had a “sexless marriage” with Spelling and she believed in him.
Spelling and McDermott worked on their marriage with the latter making another proposal to Spelling in 2016. The couple declared that their marriage has been stronger following the incident.
“We don’t have relationship problems,” the actress said in February 2019. “We communicate now, I have a voice. He probably hears too much of it but he [is so] good at listening. Women like to talk and over-explain.”
Meanwhile, Spelling was slammed by some of her fans for charging $95 for a virtual meeting during the coronavirus pandemic. McDermott broke his silence and defended his wife. According to him, Spelling was only trying to “provide for her family.”
“It’s Tori Spelling, she gets dragged and she gets the haters coming down on her for simply doing something to entertain people, but more importantly, to provide for her family. What is wrong with that? What is wrong with providing for your family at this time?” McDermott explained.
