Tori Spelling's Friends Not Surprised By Dean McDermott Divorce Rumors: Report

Tori Spelling's friends are not surprised that the actress and her husband Dean McDermott seem to be headed for a divorce, a report has claimed.

Rumors that Spelling and McDermott's marriage is on the rocks have been swirling for a while. However, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum fueled the speculation earlier this week when she was spotted looking upset outside an lawyer's office and flashing a notepad that had the words "custody," "support" and "assets" written on it.

An unnamed source told Page Six that Spelling's friends "are surprised [a divorce] didn’t happen years ago," adding, "No one is a fan of [McDermott]."

The insider added that while Spelling's friends weren't surprised that she appeared to be ending her 15-year marriage to McDermott, they noticed that the star also seemed to have cut off some people in her circle.

"She’s cut people off," the insider added. "None of her old friends talk to her much. They used to have girls' nights all the time before the pandemic. They don’t anymore."

Neither Spelling nor McDermott have publicly confirmed or denied the split rumors, which first started swirling in March when she was spotted without her wedding ring. Fans also noticed that neither Spelling nor McDermott took to Instagram to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary in May.

The 48-year-old actress then revealed in June that she and her husband no longer sleep in the same bedroom.

When asked on SiriusXM Radio Andy's "Jeff Lewis Live" if McDermott was sleeping "in the guest room," Spelling responded: "He's in a room."

According to the "Messyness" star, her dog and her kids sleep with her in her bed. She and McDermott share five kids together, Liam Aaron, 14, Stella Doreen, 13, Hattie Margaret, 9, Finn Davey, 8 and Beau Dean, 4.

"Since he left - this is not good, you guys - but since he left, he was gone for six months filming in another country, they all stayed with me," Spelling shared at the time. "So I currently still have four in the bedroom with me who have yet to go back to their rooms."

Last month, McDermott brushed off rumors that they were experiencing marital problems.

"It’s just weird that people need to know," he said on the "Feminine Warrior" podcast. "'What’s going on with Tori and Dean? She’s not wearing her ring.' Why do you need to know that? How is that going to affect your day?"

He previously gushed over his wife when Spelling was announced as the new co-host for E!'s chat show "Daily Pop" for a week in August. "You look amazing!!! So proud of you!!" he commented.
