  • Tottenham is keeping tabs on Southampton striker Danny Ings
  • Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl addresses Ings' situation
  • The Spurs are also linked to a move for a striker dubbed as the "new Zlatan Ibrahimovic"

Tottenham has put another highly-rated striker on its transfer wish list.

After a disappointing 2020-21 season, Tottenham is expected to have a busy summer, having been linked to a handful of reinforcements.

In an obvious attempt to bolster, the Spurs have turned their sights on Southampton striker Danny Ings, Eurosport reported.

According to the report, the Spurs have been closely monitoring Ings’ situation and are hoping to lure the Englishman in the next transfer window.

Ings has been a key figure for Southampton in the last three seasons and has continued his lethal goalscoring form in the current campaign.

To date, the 28-year-old has already bagged nine goals in 24 English Premier League appearances. He has also impressed on the international stage, having notched one goal in three caps for England.

Despite the apparent interest from Tottenham, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is not open to letting Ings go anytime soon.

“If he has a [place in the] Euros or not, he is part of this club,” Hasenhuttl told Football365.com of Ings. “He has a contract with this club, so that contract means he has to do everything and just to help us. This is the deal we made.”

Moreover, Hasenhuttl remains confident that Ings has the ability to not only help Southampton win games but also lead them to a title.

“The most important thing is that [Ings] he helps us win games, that he helps us in climbing the table, and that he helps us maybe come into the FA Cup final,” the Saints boss pointed out.“This is the deal we have with him, and so long as he is here, he tries to give his part to this deal and we give our part of the deal.”

“We offer him everything that is possible to make him better–and this is how it should be with every player,” he continued.

Aside from Ings, Tottenham is also reportedly interested in luring Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has been dubbed by some as the “new Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”

Recent reports state that the Spurs might have been picturing Vlahovic as a goalscoring partner for their longtime talisman Harry Kane.

Should Jose Mourinho’s side decide to pursue the Serbian, who is in contract with Fiorentina until the summer of 2023, the club would have to outbid the likes of Arsenal, AC Milan, AS Roma, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid.
