'Toy Story That Time Forgot' Poster Released At SDCC 2014; Everything We Know About Christmas Special
Get ready, “Toy Story” fans, because soon all of Andy’s favorite toys will be brushing off the dust and returning to a TV near you for some quality playtime. Excited? We totally are and so are the attendees at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, who will be getting a first taste of the ABC TV special, “Toy Story That Time Forgot,” which will be airing in December.
Talk about Christmas coming early! The holiday special, which will be Pixar’s second TV special after “Toy Story of Terror,” will feature all your beloved childhood toys from Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), Rex (Wallace Shawn), Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles) and Mr. Pricklepants (Timothy Dalton).
And while we’re looking forward to catching up with old friends, fans of “Toy Story” have been told to make room in their toy chests for new playthings being added to the gang. Bonnie’s collection will grow in size when Reptillus Maximus (voiced by “Grey’s Anatomy” Kevin McKidd) and Trixie the triceratops (voiced by “30 Rock’s” Kristen Schaal) make their roaring-debut in “Toy Story That Time Forgot.”
The synopsis for the TV special, which is said to take place after “Toy Story 3,” teases that “during a post-Christmas play date, the gang will find themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures turn out to be dangerously delusional. It’s all up to Trixie, the triceratops, if the gang hopes to return to Bonnie’s room.”
Bonnie is the 4-year-old tutu-donning darling to whom Andy passed on his beloved toys prior to going away for college. Looks like she'll have more than a handful when "Toy Story That Time Forgot" airs.
“Toy Story That Time Forgot,” created by Mike Mignola, will be holding a Comic-Con panel on Thursday, July 24, at 11:15 a.m. PST in Room 6A. The hour-long panel, moderated by “Toy Story” composer Michael Giacchino, will have an hour-long Q&A with McKidd, Schaal, director Steve Purcell (“Brave”) and head of story Deek Thompson (“WALL-E”). A special autograph session will then give fans a chance at getting memorabilia signed at 1 p.m. at the ABC booth on the Convention Center floor.
