Toyota recalls 2.3M vehicles in US to fix pedals (list)
Toyota announced on Thursday to recall its 2.3 million vehicles in the United States to fix problems with accelerator pedals.
Our investigation indicates that there is a possibility that certain accelerator pedal mechanisms may, in rare instances, mechanically stick in a partially depressed position or return slowly to the idle position, Toyota USA group vice president Irv Miller said in a statement.
The announcement follows an earlier and separate recall of 4.2 million vehicles to correct a problem in which the pedals could become stuck under loose floor mats.
This new recall is to correct a situation in which the gas pedal could stick without the presence of a floor mat.
Below is the list of affected vehicles:
-RAV4 2009-2010 models
-Corolla 2009-2010 models
-Matrix 2009-2010 models
-Avalon 2005-2010 models
-Camry 2007-2010 models
-Highlander 2010 model
-Tundra 2007-2010 models
