Toys R Us Store Hours Extended for Christmas, Open 24-7 for Last-Minute Shoppers

For procrastinators, last-minute holiday shopping can be a pain, but Toys R Us is on your side. The toy giant has extended its store hours before Christmas so that shoppers can grab deals on toys with stores open 24-7 until late Christmas Eve.

Toys R Us stores across the nation will stay open for 112 hours straight beginning on Tuesday at 6 a.m. before finally closing at 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve, according to a press release.

Last year, Toys R Us remained open for 24 hours for consecutive days to cater to last-minute shoppers.

For the second consecutive year, our stores will remain open continuously during the days leading up to Christmas, allowing shoppers more time and more ways to shop with Toys R Us than ever before, Chief Marketing Officer Greg Ahearn said.

While stores around the nation will spend over four days open around the clock, the Toys R Us in the city that never sleeps will stay open even longer. The Times Square flagship store has been open for 24 hours since 6 a.m. on Dec. 16 and will not close until Christmas Eve.

Other retailers have followed suit in keeping stores open longer for last-minute holiday shopping. CNN reported that 14 Macy's along with the flagship in New York City will stay open around the clock until 6 p.m. on Dec. 24.

According to research experts at the NPD Group in the United Kingdom, giving an extra day on Saturday for consumers to shop for last-minute holiday items will result in £24 million bonus for the UK toy industry.
