  • Kierran Trippier hints at plans to return to Tottenham before he retires
  • Manchester United is planning a possible move for Trippier in the next transfer window
  • Atletico Madrid is only willing to release Trippier if the set release clause is met

Kieran Trippier appears to be doing well with Atletico Madrid, but his heart still appears to be with Tottenham.

Given that he has plenty of football years ahead of him, a return to the Hotspur is possible but may only happen after several more years.

Since arriving in 2019 for a fee of £20 million ($27.6 million) from Tottenham, there is no doubt that the 31-year-old right-back has been a huge asset for Diego Simeone.

This was evident in his performance last season for the Spurs when they won La Liga.

The English player continues to improve as he gets older although most know that all athletes reach a certain age when they start to slow down.

Trippier seems aware that he cannot play football forever. But before he calls it a career, he has one plan in mind-- to make a return to Tottenham.

The 31-year-old made this revelation ahead of Indios' clash with the Spurs a couple of days ago.

“Who knows, maybe further down the line I would like to be a manager. Who knows at the end of my career, I could play for Dyche again and get a coaching role with him,” Trippier stated.

While it is something to ponder on, it remains that Trippier is still young and has plenty of years to give.

In addition, there are still teams who have interest in him for as long as he is actively playing.

One of them is Manchester United who can only lure the Englishman to the fold if they pay Trippier’s release clause worth £50 million ($69 million), AS reported.

Trippier may have to make several stops before thinking about a return to Tottenham.
