  • Everton is hardly miffed by Juventus' stiff asking fee for Aaron Ramsey
  • Ramsey may not immediately turn things around for Everton
  • A Ramsey deal is likely to be heavily scrutinized by the club's followers

Aaron Ramsey of Juventus is not short of suitors, and the Old Lady will look to get the most out of it.

A hefty fee has been set, something that multiple clubs may have to reconsider before continuing their pursuit of the 30-year-old footballer.

Among the teams linked to him are Everton, Newcastle United and West Ham.

But of those teams, Everton has been singled out as the club who may be left undeterred in their pursuit of Ramsey even with a £230,000 ($305,000)-a-week price tag asked by Juve according to The Sunday Mirror.

One reason behind the aggressive pursuit is that Toffees manager Rafa Benitez is bent on hopefully acquiring Ramsey in the January transfer window.

Juventus is believed to be willing to part ways with Ramsey but at the right price and terms. However, that would still depend on how much money is on the table.

Ramsey is unlikely to accept anything less than $305,000 a week.

There are also claims that the midfielder may want a contract that would run until 2025 if another club successfully plucks him out of Turin.

In the case of Everton, it is a risky move considering they would have to shell out big money to get Ramsey to their side.

Furthermore, Benitez could be placing himself in a hot seat.

Although the Toffees won over Arsenal over the weekend, it remains that not all fans continue to have faith seeing him call the shots at Goodison Park.

Ramsey would be a key acquisition, but most will cast doubts on whether he would be a long-term fit.

A move by Benitez in the past is proof.

James Rodriguez was someone they tried out but the partnership fizzled.

After arriving in 2020, the Colombian midfielder ended up getting pushed out the door as the Toffees tried to save on finances.

So unless Benitez can justify the pursuit of the midfielder and how he would fit into his system, this is a high-risk move that may or may not work for the Toffees.

To make matters worse, it could follow the case of Rodriguez and lose big money in the process.

Paying Ramsey $305,000 a week is hefty. But if a deal does go down next month, he could be earning that much until he is 34 years old, per TBR.
