Manchester City finally gets their man.

The defending champions of the English Premier League have been searching for that big money summer transfer window signing.

It was reported last week that Manchester City has been looking at Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish to join the club on a massive £75 million ($103.7 million) transfer bid.

The deal finally materialized as transfer maestro Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal today.

Romano reports that the agreed-upon transfer fee for the English national team player is at £100 million ($139.1 million) and that his contract is good until the summer window of 2026.

City Xtra reports that the deal will officially be announced by Manchester City management within the next 24 hours.

With the massive transfer bid, Manchester City broke the current transfer fee record, last held by Manchester United for their £89 million ($123.8 million) bid for French national Paul Pogba back in 2016.

The signing couldn’t have come at a better time for Manchester City as they’ve been searching for a player that will help carry them to another Premier League title--their third in four years.

The departure of Sergio Aguero to La Liga giants Barcelona has left the club with a gaping hole that they’ve been trying to fill. While Grealish isn’t a striker, it gives them a new dimension to the way they play.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola described that the 25-year-old Grealish is an “exceptional player” and having him on the club allows them to be more creative with their attacks.

Grealish had a great performance at the 2020 European Championships as his playmaking allowed England to score the two decisive goals that carried them to a victory over Germany in the quarter-finals.

The midfielder has been with Aston Villa since he was six and the transfer to Manchester City surely broke the hearts of everyone at the club, but this is a great opportunity for Grealish to improve as a player and he’ll get opportunities to compete for major silverware every year--particularly the UEFA Champions League trophy.

Manchester City is still in pursuit of Tottenham Hotspurs striker Harry Kane after England's team captain has gone AWOL by not reporting to training camp.

It would take the Premier League champions another record-breaking fee to sign Kane as his home club is looking to hold out on all offers.
