Transfer Rumors: Arsenal Linked Anew To Uruguayan Striker; Multiple Teams Join Race
KEY POINTS
- Martin Satriano has a long list of suitors this summer window
- Arsenal tries anew to land the Uruguayan striker
- Inter Milan is expected to sell off players to address its financial crunch
Several teams are leaning on young guns next season, and Inter Milan has someone that has captured the fancy of several clubs.
Martin Satriano has been making waves, and this development has rekindled the interest of at least one team–Arsenal.
It would not be the first time that the Gunners have been linked to the 20-year-old forward.
They were singled out alongside Chelsea as admirers of the Uruguayan in February. But this time around, it appears Arsenal will have a tougher chase with teams like Tottenham also keeping tabs with Satriano.
Satriano is one of the emerging talents from Italy. In his most recent campaign, he scored 12 goals in 27 appearances.
Satriano is part of Inter’s Under-19 team and has been touted to become one of the game’s top future stars.
Satriano was named on the bench for a trio of Serie A games last year as Inter went on to win their 19th league title.
Arsenal and Tottenham are not alone in monitoring Satriano’s situation. The list includes Everton and West Ham.
Manchester City also had a prior interest. So far, they have not been mentioned as possibly reconsidering the Uruguayan.
Considering Inter Milan is also in a financial bind, the chances of them selling Satriano is high.
Inter Milan is also struggling financially, a predicament that other teams like Barcelona are trying to deal with right now as a result of the pandemic.
Aside from Satriano, Inter Milan is likely to let go of other players this summer to offset huge debts.
Hence, the teams interested could cash in but potentially at a reduced fee. Considering he has not gotten much playing time, the asking fee for the Uruguayan is unlikely to be high.
Should Arsenal be successful this time around, Satriano could be a potential successor to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
At 32, the Gabon captain has been struggling and that was seen during the 2020-21 season.
Aubameyang managed to find the net only 15 times compared to 29 last season.
Satriano is promising but is not an immediate solution to whichever team he ends up with.
However, he is an investment that any team would want–particularly for the future.
