Transfer Rumors: French World Cup Winner On Radar Of Man United, Juventus
KEY POINTS
- Barcelona is trying to secure Ousman Dembele before the current season ends
- Manchester United and Juventus are among teams considering Dembele
- Dembele's camp is holding off talks, aware of good offers this summer
Several teams are expected to skim the transfer market after this season, and the name of French World Cup winner Ousmane Dembele has been raised.
Currently playing for Barcelona, it appears there are at least two clubs who may go after the 23-year-old by the end of this season.
However, that will depend on whether they can meet the asking price of Barca.
According to Calciomercato, Manchester United and Juventus could be two teams who may try to snag Dembele from Barcelona.
But for that to happen, either club needs to fork out roughly $60 million to see the deal go down.
If that is the case, Juventus may not be able to afford the French player. On the other hand, that could be good news for the Red Devils who are looking for someone to fill in their right-wing.
It would also be best to note that Manchester United allegedly wanted to take Dembele on a season-long loan deal.
Unfortunately, those plans never progressed with the French player allegedly turning down the deal to stay at Camp Nou.
While the interest of Manchester United is understandable, the final say will still be on Barca. Dembele is still under contract until the summer of 2022, and his performance this season could entice his mother club to hang on to him.
Dembele has scored 10 goals and four assists in 38 appearances for Blaugrana this season.
According to Diario Sport, a slight window may have opened for Manchester United and even Juventus.
Talks have been stalled to keep the French footballer in the fold, making the situation a bit complicated for now.
The camp of Dembele may be stalling for a new deal, aware that he could get a better deal in the summer.
Thus, this could give the Red Devils and I Bianconeri a chance to secure Dembele if they can pitch a good offer.
Juventus can still pull off something although it may have to include another player in the deal such as Adrien Rabiot.
Alternatively, they could unload off some players to make up for the financial deficit.
