  • Arsenal, Juventus and Liverpool lead the race for the services of Denis Zakaria
  • Zakaria could still opt to stay with Gladbach once his contract expires
  • More teams could join the race as Zakaria offers a bargain price

Denis Zakaria of Borussia Mönchengladbach looms as a hot target for teams in need of a midfielder at a bargain price.

The 25-year-old’s contract expires in the summer, and at least three teams are reportedly keeping tabs on his situation.

According to TuttoJuve, the latest club to join the race for the services of the Swiss footballer is Juventus.

The Old Lady is reportedly willing to shell out to get him for a bargain fee of £4.25 million ($5.65 million).

While the fee is undoubtedly a bargain, the only problem for Juve is that they are not the only ones interested in Zakaria.

Arsenal and Liverpool are allegedly also interested in luring the Swiss national to their side. Both also appear to be in the lead considering they have already been either linked or held talks with Zakaria.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, details of what the Reds can offer have yet to be known, which means that any other team could get the Swiss' attention with a good pitch.

On the part of the Gunners, talks have allegedly started between the camp of Zakaria and Arsenal according to Fussball Transfers.

No actual numbers are settled although it is reportedly a fee that runs between £1.7 million ($2.26 million) and £4.25 million ($5.65 million).

But it is worth noting that all talk about acquiring Zakaria on a bargain is not valid until the summer.

This means that Juve, Arsenal and Liverpool will have to wait for a couple of months before they can start trying to pry the Swiss to their side.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, there is also a possibility that some team jumps the gun on the rest of the field.

But then again, it is also possible that the Swiss footballer could opt to stay with the German side.

Of the three teams, Liverpool appears to be the team that could push for a deal. He could be a potential replacement for James Milner, joining the mix that already includes Thiago Silva and Fabinho.

But like the Reds, Zakaria could also be a notable addition to Arsenal and Juve, hinting that it could be a busy and interesting summer for all parties concerned.
