KEY POINTS

  • Ozan Kaban seems to be on the wish lists of Leicester City and Crystal Palace
  • Schalke 04 is looking for a double-digit fee to release Turkish defender
  • The Foxes are in dire need of help with key players sidelined due to injuries

If things fall into place, Turkish defender Ozan Kabak could be moving to a new team this coming season.

At least two teams are reportedly interested in the 21-year-old footballer with the Foxes believed to be the favorites to land Kabak.

Two English Premier League clubs appear to be looking into the possibility of dealing for Kabak, someone whose rights still belong to Schalke 04.

Aside from Leicester City, the other team allegedly trying to make a play for the Turkish player is Crystal Palace, Sport Witness reported.

Kabak spent the second half of last season on loan to Liverpool. However, the Reds decided not to take up the option to make the move permanent.

It could be the break that the Foxes are looking for considering they have been linked to the midfielder all summer long.

Leicester City has reportedly offered £6.78 million ($9.41 million) for Kaban, something that could bring the Turkish player back to England. However, this allegation has yet to be confirmed.

Also, it should be noted that reports claim that the alleged pitch falls below the asking fee of Schalke. They are reportedly seeking an undisclosed deal that is a double-digit amount.

However, Die Knappen is reportedly keen on dealing Kabak for the right price because he is one of the highest earners in the club.

The interest in Kaban is understandable considering Brendan Rodgers is looking for players to reinforce their center-back position.

With Wesley Fofana suffering an injury that will likely keep him out for at least six months, the Foxes need to find players to fill in the void.

Aside from Fofana, Leicester is also missing Johnny Evans. He could be out until at least next month, indicating that the Foxes may need to sign a defender before Aug. 31.

The Foxes relied on Daniel Amartey and Caglar Soyuncu in their win over Manchester City.

Flip Benovic was the only other player available for Rodgers in the rotation, clearly showing the shortage of manpower for the Foxes at the position.

Apart from Kaban, it remains to be seen who Leicester City may target in preparation for next season.
