Manchester United’s drawn-out talks for Jadon Sancho may be coming to a close very soon.
The Borussia Dortmund winger has agreed to personal terms with Manchester United during last summer’s transfer window, but the two clubs could not come to an agreement with regards to the transfer fee.
However, new reports suggest that a move to Old Trafford may finally be on the horizon for the England national team player.
CBS Sports reported that the two clubs are set to agree on a transfer fee for the prolific winger, bringing an end to the ordeal for all parties involved, including the fans who have been waiting to see if Sancho will finally play at the Theater of Dreams this season.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Dortmund is looking to resolve the transfer as soon as possible, preferably before July 23 as that will be the start of their preseason training camp.
Dortmund previously rejected Manchester United’s bid of $93 million as they value the striker quite heavily with a price tag of around $107.5 million.
This news is surely a delight for fans of the Red Devils as this gives them a winger whose attacking skills give them another threat from the midfield, a much-needed improvement in this department.
Sancho is projected to slot in perfectly among Manchester United players as he has played for the England international team with Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Harry Maguire.
Manchester United finished the 2019-2020 season in second place with 74 points, behind rivals Manchester City who took home the league trophy with 86 points.
The 21-year-old was acquired by the Bundesliga giant from the Blues in 2017 for a transfer fee of $11 million.
Should Dortmund finally end the Sancho saga with Manchester United, the future of their attacking depth is in danger as 20-year-old striker Erling Haaland has also been linked to a move outside of Germany to either the Premier League or to La Liga's Real Madrid.
