  • Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are reportedly after Rayan Ait-Nouri
  • Ait-Nouri is considered a potential future star for the Wolves
  • The Wolves are expected to ask for a lofty release fee

Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are preparing for the January transfer window, and it appears that the two clubs have a common target in Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolverhampton.

Both clubs have been linked to the 20-year-old who joined the Wolves only last year.

He was a prized acquisition of Nuno Espirito Santo when he was still at the helm of Molineux, swooping the French defender for £9.5 million ($12.55) from the Angers, The Athletic reported.

Branded as “rare talent” by former boss Stephane Moulin, Ait-Nouri has so far played 34 times with the Wolves across all competitions.

Ten of those appearances were under the watch of Bruno Lage and his improvements with each game he has played are notable.

He is seen as someone who will eventually evolve into a regular in the years to come in Wolverhampton.

However, his performance has unsurprisingly captured the attention of other clubs–in this case, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.

Although he has only 18 months of experience in the English Premier League, it appears the Magpies and Glaziers are ready to take a chance on Ait-Nouri.

The Wolves are expected to ask a lofty fee between £21.5 million ($28.4 million) and £25.7 million ($33.9 million) for Ait-Nouri as he still has over four-and-a-half years left in his current contract.

Such could favor Newcastle United who is expected to make a big splurge in the January transfer window.
