  • Newcastle is ramping up their chase for Divock Origi
  • Origi could establish himself as a Premier League legend if he fits in with the Magpies
  • Liverpool is conspicuously allowing Origi to leave at a bargain price

Newcastle United continues to look at all options as it embarks on an aggressive journey to boost their ranks.

It appears that they have another striker in mind in the person of Divock Origi of Liverpool.

According to the Telegraph, the Magpies are considering a move for the Belgian striker where they would only pay £7 million ($9.48 million) to the Reds.

If all goes well, Origi could be another potential signee for Newcastle United with reports that Kieran Trippier is set to be the club’s first signing this January.

Eddie Howe has several positions that need to be filled.

Furthermore, the absence of Callum Wilson due to injuries means that more spots are now open on the part of Newcastle United.

Wilson is expected to miss several weeks, making the pursuit on Origi sensible.

Aside from the Belgian, another name also on the Magpies’ list is allegedly Dominic Solanke.

But with Liverpool allegedly open to parting ways with Origi, the Magpies may end up focusing on getting the 26-year-old to their side and at a reasonable price.

Origi was valued at around £15 million ($20.32 million) in the summer according to The Athletic.

It is also suggested that the Belgian is earning a hefty wage at Anfield, something that the Magpies will want to clarify first.

The willingness of Liverpool to part with Origi is a bit mysterious.

This is largely because the Reds are already without Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah who are busy at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Regardless, Jurgen Klopp appears to be confident that the Reds will be just fine even if they deal out the winger.

With Newcastle looking at new pawns to place in the team moving forward, the opportunity to be one of those could benefit Origi.

The team needs someone who can score goals in flurries, and the aforementioned striker appears to be fit for that role.

Described as unbelievable and a world-class finisher, he could be on the cusp of establishing himself as a legend in the English Premier League.

But before anything else, sealing the deal with the Magpies needs to be done for that to happen.
