Transfer Rumors: Paul Pogba To Leave Manchester United? A 'Close Source' Gives Update Ahead Of January Window
Paul Pogba may have played his final match for Manchester United, according to former Red Devils Alan Brazil.
Pogba, who has been linked to Real Madrid over the past 18 months, has been out of action since Man Utd's 1-1 draw against Arsenal in September with a foot injury. However, there has been a lot of speculation about his future at the Old Trafford.
The Frenchman, who is recovering in Miami, recently was seen playing basketball during his rehabilitation after his cast was removed. Following that, there have been talks about Pogba refusing to train despite being fit as he is looking to move out through the transfer window in January.
During Monday's Sports Breakfast, Brazil revealed that a source texted him saying, "Pogba will never play for United again."
"Someone has just told me, and it’s not just a random text, I know this guy and he does know a lot about United and what has gone on. He says: ‘From a very strong source – Pogba will NEVER play for United again’."
"Now, take that the way you want it, I don’t know who has told him but that is what he is saying. Because I was thinking the other night, ‘What has happened to him, where is he? Pogba posted a video of himself playing basketball last week, despite the injury, drawing criticism from fans. Look that’s the source; he has told me he will never play for United again," Brazil added.
Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, claimed to have no issues with Pogba playing basketball.
"We don’t play basketball. I don’t see many basketball players tackling ankles, twisting and turning with studs. He’s not ready to train. He had another test and scan just at the start of the international break and it’s not healed yet," the United boss said in a press conference last week. He’s stepping up the recovery so he doesn’t have to have the cast on."
The former Man Utd striker went on to add that Pogba has been slowly stepping up and the club hopes to watch him in action soon.
Apart from Real Madrid, Pogba has also been linked to the World Cup winner's former club, Juventus.
After a 3-3 draw with Sheffield United on Sunday, Man Utd climbed up to the ninth place in the points table.
