KEY POINTS

  • Real Madrid's Brahim Diaz may return to Milan on loan
  • Borja Mayoral has a better chance of returning to Real Madrid
  • Diaz needs to develop his consistency to get a regular spot with Los Blancos

For young players like Brahim Diaz who need to polish their game, being placed on loan normally follows.

Although his rights are technically owned by Real Madrid, the 21-year-old has been trying to sharpen himself in Milan.

However, it will reach the point where he would have to return to Los Blancos and the consensus is that he may not be sticking around that long.

Diaz and Borja Mayoral are getting the time to play while on loan.

The Spaniard has been showing promise but has failed to prove himself as a consistent threat.

As far as Mayoral, he has had more goals than the Spanish forward, a good indication that Real Madrid is more likely to keep him rather than see him end up getting permanent status in Roma.

However, all is not lost for Diaz. There is a chance he may still stay at Santiago Bernabeu, according to a report from AS.

Los Blancos has reportedly kept the faith in the Spanish player. But the only way he is staying with Real Madrid is if he holds an important part in the squad.

At any rate, the best to expect from Diaz is to be a role player. It does not follow that he will be getting the proper minutes, something any player would want.

With Milan, Diaz has found the net six times this season. His most recent one was that goal again Juventus. But as mentioned earlier, consistency is key.

So unless the Spaniard finds a way to do so, seeing Real Madrid keep him is uncertain.

Diaz was sent to Milan to get playing time and help develop his game. But somehow, that loan spell has not entirely helped him evolve into the player deserving of a spot under Zinedine Zidane.

In all, question marks are in the air on the viability of keeping Diaz in the mix.
