  • Arsenal is among the clubs keeping tabs on Yves Bissouma's situation
  • Bissouma has "indicated" to Brighton that he wants to leave and join a new team, a report claims
  • Bissouma is not short of suitors but will want the best-pitched deal this summer

Several players are expected to look for new deals this summer, and a report has claimed that Brighton's Yves Bissouma may be one of them.

The 25-year-old is considered one of the most talented midfielders in the English Premier League today despite not playing for a heavyweight team.

However, that could soon change as the Mali international has "indicated" to the Seagulls that he plans to leave Falmer Stadium in the upcoming summer transfer window, 90min reported. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

Brighton has been informed that a contract extension for Bissouma, who has 15 months left on his current deal with the club, is highly unlikely at this stage, according to the outlet.

Bissouma, who arrived at Brighton from Lille in 2018, will not be short of options for his next destination, with multiple teams believed to be interested in his services, 90min reported.

Among the clubs that could try to snag the midfielder this summer are Arsenal F.C., Aston Villa and Newcastle United, according to the outlet.

Several other teams are also monitoring Bissouma's situation, including Liverpool, Manchester United and Leicester City F.C., as per 90min.

Of these teams, the Gunners could be an interesting landing spot for Bissouma. Mikel Arteta has found a way to assemble a good group and is at the cusp of securing Champions League football next season.

The midfield is an area that the Gunners need to address, making Bissouma a plausible choice. Arsenal does have Granit Xhaka, but adding the Mali international could provide Arteta with an upgrade in that position.

But like most teams, it would all boil down to how much Bissouma would be worth. Reports claimed that Brighton will not accept less than £50 million ($66.2 million) for Bissouma, and Arsenal may not be willing to pay this amount.

That may depend on negotiations, assuming the Gunners seriously pursue Bissouma. However, a problem may arise if other teams are willing to shell out big money, which may result in a potential bidding war for Bissouma’s services in the upcoming transfer window.
