In one of the most bizarre viral videos doing the rounds on the internet, a man who appeared to be a trespasser was seen licking the doorbell of a home, grossing out the owners of the property.

The incident took place in the Rossi Rico neighborhood of Salinas, California, as per reports on the KION-TV.

The perpetrator has been identified by the Salinas Police Department as 33-year-old Roberto Daniel Arroyo. He has since been on the run but could face charges for petty theft and prowling, according to police.

Sylvia Dungan, the victim, told the outlet that she and her husband were out of town when the incident took place. However, their two children were inside the house but did not wake up to the noise. The couple received an alert through the electronic surveillance system.

"I thought, boy there’s a lot of traffic. I go, 5:00 in the morning? My son doesn’t get home till 6:00 a.m. well then, who the heck is that?" Dungan told the outlet. She said that it was after viewing the footage that they decided to call the police.

The police revealed that further footage showed the man trying to relieve himself in the front yard of the property.

The whole incident has been termed as gross, funny and bizarre by the victims' neighbors too.

While one said, "I thought I’ve seen it all, but this takes the cake,” another commented, “Never have we seen anything like this.”

Dungan also added that while they were concerned, the incident didn't really inflict any harm on them. “You kind of laugh about it afterwards because technically he didn’t do anything," she said.
