Hallmark Channel’s in the midst of airing its new June Weddings movies, but with the newest addition to the network’s 10th anniversary Countdown to Christmas lineup, Hallmarkies will find themselves counting down the days until the Hallmark holiday season.

Trevor Donovan, best known for his role as Teddy Montgomery on The CW’s “90210,” is set to star in “The House of Wooden Santas (working title),” a new Hallmark flick based on Kevin Major’s 1997 novel of the same name, International Business Times has learned exclusively

The actor joined the Hallmark family in 2012 with “Strawberry Summer” and most recently starred in the network’s 2019 Winterfest movie, “SnowComing.” This will be Donovan’s second Hallmark Christmas movie — his first being 2017’s “Marry Me at Christmas” — and his sixth movie for the network overall.

Donovan, who’s also set for a series regular role in LightWorkers Media’s TV adaptation of Karen Kingsbury’s “The Baxters” book series later this year, plays single dad Keith McClain in the Christmas flick. The character’s described as a lumberjack on the outside and a teddy bear on the inside.

Starring opposite the “Love Always, Dogbert’s Journey” author is Brooke D’Orsay, who also made her Hallmark debut in 2012. Since starring in “How to Fall in Love” seven years ago, she’s been in three more Hallmark movies, including last year’s “Christmas in Love” with Daniel Lissing.

Directed by J.B. Sugar (“A Midnight Kiss) and produced by Leif Bristow (“Love, Romance, & Chocolate), “The House of Wooden Santas” begins filming in Ontario, Canada next week.

This will be Donovan and D’Orsay’s first project together, but are they about to become Hallmark’s newest fan-favorite movie duo? Hallmarkies will just have to wait until the flick premieres during the 2019 Countdown to Christmas season to find out!

In the meantime, keep reading to learn what the new Hallmark Christmas movie is all about.

“This Christmas, the miracles of the season take the form of sentimental, handcrafted wooden Santas in a small town toy store in North Bay, Maine,” according to the synopsis. “Anne Garrison (D’Orsay) seemed to have it all as a driven toy buyer in New York City, but her father’s retirement signaling the closing of the town’s beloved toy store brings the city girl back to her small town roots and perhaps her lost Christmas spirit in the process. While back in town she meets handsome widower, doting father and local mill manager, Keith McClain (Donovan).”

The synopsis continues: “Through an unexpected turn of events Anne and Keith find themselves planning the town’s annual Christmas festivities together. How did that even happen? The way it happened doesn’t really make a difference when sparks begin to fly between them. And as Anne’s heart begins to open to Keith and the small town sentimentality that she left behind, Anne has some tough decisions to make.”

Once the holidays are over, will she head back to her life in New York, or will she stay in North Bay and take a chance on a new life with a new love?

The official answer to that won’t arrive until Donovan and D’Orsay’s “The House of Wooden Santas” premieres in a few months, but go ahead and give it your best Hallmark Channel Christmas movie guess.
