‘True Blood’ Season 7 Spoilers: Movie Or Spinoff For 2016? Stephen Moyer Teases New Project After Series Finale
There is a Lilith … or in this case, Billith! The ancient vampire god has answered the prayers of “True Blood” fans, because now there's a possibility that season 7 won’t be the total end for the hit HBO series.
As we reported in early September, the upcoming seventh season of “True Blood” had been confirmed as its last. Showrunner Brian Buckner stated that the shortened season, consisting of 10 episodes, would “bring Sookie’s story to a close with heart, imagination and, of course, fun.” However, Vampire Bill’s Stephen Moyer is singing a different tune. The 44-year-old actor spoke with the Examiner and revealed that something else might be in store for fans in 2016.
The site questioned Moyer about what fans should do in the summer of 2015 since the show will end its six year run in the summer of 2014. Moyer responded with the following:
“What are you going to do in the summer of 2015? I’m not sure about the summer of 2015, but if things go the way I’m hoping, there will be something to watch in the summer of 2016. We’ll have an announcement about that … soonish.”
The actor’s response immediately threw “True Blood” fans into a frenzy of assumptions that he meant a spinoff series or movie. But Moyer could be hinting at a new project that has nothing to do with vampires and the lovely town of Bon Temps.
Since appearing on “True Blood,” Moyer has moved on from acting to producing. His latest project, “Free Ride,” hits theaters on Friday, Jan. 10, and stars his wife and “True Blood” co-star, Anna Paquin. The film, which has a limited release in New York and Los Angeles, is about “a single mom caught up in the Florida drug trade during the late 1970s [who] tries to make a better life for her two girls.” Moyer is also an executive producer for a short film called “Civilianaire Boys’ Club,” which is currently in post-production with a 2014 release date.
What kind of announcement do you think Stephen Moyer is talking about? Would you like to see a “True Blood” movie or spinoff? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section or send a tweet to @AmandaTVScoop.
