Trump Latest Sexual Assault Accusations: Lawsuits, Timeline And List Of Women With Allegations
Attorney Gloria Allred was expected to announce a lawsuit against Donald Trump for sexual misconduct on Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to a tweet from a Business Insider reporter.
The lawsuit would be filed on behalf of one of the women who previously accused the president-elect of sexual misconduct. The identity of the woman was expected to be revealed at a news conference scheduled to take place around 2:30 p.m. EST. Allred has previously represented women more than a dozen women accusing Trump of sexual misconduct.
At least 19 women have publicly accused Trump of inappropriate sexual conduct since he launched his presidential campaign in July 2015. Trump has denied all the accusations, but critics have pointed to the now-infamously leaked "Access Hollywood" footage of Trump as corroboration of what many of his accusers have said. The video, which prompted many Republicans to renounce Trump’s presidential bid, showed the billionaire boasting to "Access Hollywood" correspondent Billy in 2005 of being able to grab women by the genitals. “When you’re a star, they let you do it,” Trump said. He later dismissed the conversation as “locker room talk.”
“I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am,” Trump said after the video was released.
The announcement of the lawsuit came on the heels of an unverified intelligence dossier published by BuzzFeed last week that claimed Russian intelligence had gathered recordings of Trump engaging in sexual activity with prostitutes, including "golden showers."
The accusations of sexually inappropriate conduct against Trump follow a similar pattern: Accusers say the business mogul groped or kissed them without their consent.
In May, Temple Taggart, a former Miss Utah, told the New York Times that Trump, who was married to Marla Maples at the time, introduced himself by kissing her on the lips in 1997. She was 21 years old.
Another Miss America pageant contestant, Cassandra Searles, alleged in June that Trump “continually grabbed my ass and invited me to his hotel room,” in 2013.
In July, makeup artist Jill Harth told the Guardian Trump groped her under a table at dinner in 1992 and assaulted her at in a child’s bedroom at the real estate mogul's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida the next year.
More accusers came forward after the "Access Hollywood" tape was leaked in October. They included:
Jessica Leeds said Trump grabbed her breasts and put his hand up her skirt on a 1979 flight when she was 38 years old.
Kristin Anderson said Trump groped her genitals at a Manhattan nightclub in the early 1990s.
Karena Virginia accused Trump of touching her breast at the 1998 U.S. Open tennis tournament.
Mindy McGillivray said Trump grabbed her while she worked a 2003 event at his Mar-a-Lago estate as a photographer's assistant.
Rachel Crooks was 22 and working in Trump Tower when she said Trump began kissing her on the mouth in an elevator in 2005.
Natasha Stoynoff, a People magazine writer, said Trump pushed her up against a wall and began “forcing his tongue down [her] throat” while she was visiting Mar-a-Lago to write a story about Trump and his pregnant wife Melania in 2005.
Summer Zervos, a contestant on "The Apprentice," who said Trump groped her at a Beverly Hills Hotel during a 2007 meeting to discuss job opportunities.
