  • Trump would likely start a new TV show following his loss to Biden, survey shows
  • He previously hosted NBC's "The Apprentice"
  • The became a financial lifeline after Trump suffered nearly $90 million in net losses

A recent survey about President Donald Trump's future predicts that he may start his own network and produce a new TV show after losing against President-elect Joe Biden in the 2020 U.S. election.

The survey, which had nearly 4,000 respondents, showed that the majority of Americans believe Trump will start a TV network after he leaves office on Jan. 20, Mother Jones reported.

Trump may also decide to "flee the country," according to 798 survey respondents. This comes after the president had previously floated the idea of leaving the U.S. if Biden won the election during one of his campaign rallies in Georgia, Business Insider reported.

"Could you imagine if I lose? I'm not going to feel so good. Maybe I'll have to leave the country, I don't know," Trump had said.

Before being elected as the 45th President of the United States, Trump hosted "The Apprentice" on NBC for 15 seasons. The reality show challenged 16 candidates each season by giving them rigorous tasks each week. The tasks would force them to "think outside the box" to perform better than the other team.

"The Apprentice" brought more than 7 million viewers by the end of the first season.

Reality TV provided Trump a financial lifeline after he reported more than $89.9 million in net losses for 2003 months following the show's inaugural episode in January 2004. It allowed Trump to advertise his brand, and gain a new cash source.

The show's ratings earned the president $197 million over 16 years. His fame also earned him an additional $230 million from sponsorships, The New York Times reported.

Trump also secured seven-figure licensing deals with hotel builders and $850,000 to put the Trump brand on a laundry detergent. In addition, he hosted various "Donald Trump Way to Wealth" seminars that promised attendees they would learn the secrets that made a billionaire.

Trump could also be invited to appear in public speeches or on television shows. And while there have been a bunch of books written about Trump recently, now he may very well get his own book deal.
