Trump Misses Presidential 'Beast' Limo After Getting Off Plane: Features Of The President's Ride
President Donald Trump on Monday walked past his limousine instead of getting in while stepping down from his Air Force One plane.
The scene was aired on Fox News on Monday and showed the president alighting from the plane at Joint Base Andrews Airfield. In the video, he is seen stepping off the plane and waving to a crowd. But as he reaches the bottom of the airplane staircase, he completely misses the car — the presidential limousine, dubbed the beast — and walks past it. The incident has since gone viral on social media.

While President Trump has been ridiculed for missing such a large entity as the Beast, standing just in front of him, it did put the presidential limousine into focus. The car, which is called ‘the Beast’ deserves all the attention. The bomb proof Cadillac One was put into service for President Trump and has been specially designed to survive military and chemical warfare attacks.
The Beast is not just one car, but a series of 12 cars made by General Motors, which are rotated and sent ahead of a presidential visit. The car is expected to run on diesel, although there is no clarity on what kind of fuel it uses.
The car comes with a host of security features, which justify its name. The presidential limo has a five-inch military grade armour made of hardened steel aluminium, titanium and ceramic. It has eight-inch thick steel doors, which are as heavy as the door of a Boeing 757. The car has shred-resistant and puncture resistant Kevlar tyres. The car can even run on its steel rim, if the tyres give out. It also has security arsenal inside including shotguns and tear gas cannons. One gun is present in the front grille of the car and can be used to fire at an attacker. The car also has night vision cameras mounted on its grille.
The windows are made up of five layers of glass and can withstand armour piercing bullets. They are also sealed shut and only the driver’s window can be opened, by just 3 inches. The fuel tank too is armour plated and has a special foam cover, which will stop it from exploding, even if it is attacked directly.

The presidential seats inside have a slot for a satellite phone, which connects the president to the vice-president. An oxygen system is also in place to protect the president in case of a chemical attack. Some bags of president’s Rh negative blood group have also been kept in the car for emergencies.
The president is driven around by a secret service agent, who needs to be an expert in driving in different conditions and performing a 180-degree J turn. The car can accomodate seven passengers.
The current model of the car costs $300,000-$1,500,000 to make.
