A year ago, NW published a report claiming that Theroux was “crushing hard” on Gomez. Aniston’s former flame had been “sweet” on Gomez for a long time, but he reportedly never acted on it because he was still with the “Cake” actress. Following their split, Theroux began “crushing hard” on the “Good for You” singer and was constantly calling and texting her.

Gossip Cop has debunked the report. According to the publication, the tabloid “manufactured a wholly fictitious backstory” after Theroux tagged Gomez, a dog lover and Texas native, in a post on Instagram. Theroux’s post featured him holding two pit bull puppies at the Austin Pets Alive shelter.

According to the rumor-debunking site, there was no hidden message or agenda in Theroux’s post. Sources close to Theroux and Gomez also dismissed the claim, calling it “false” and “nonsense.”

Aniston and Gomez have been friends for years as the former took the latter under her wing. Aniston reportedly called Gomez when she learned that the singer might be dating her ex because she felt betrayed. The call reportedly upset Gomez.

“She has been close to Selena for a few years and has taken her under her wing. But Jen has clearly been offended, which really affected Selena,” an insider told the Sun.

Gomez was also linked to Aniston’s first ex-husband, Brad Pitt. In 2016, Gomez and Pitt were spotted together during a Golden Globes afterparty. The “Spring Breakers” star shared a snap of them on Instagram and wrote “Just discussing #TheBigShort,” which sparked the interest of her fans and the media.

A year after, Gomez and Pitt were rumored to have been carrying on a secret flirtation for almost two years. A source told Radar Online that Pitt was a huge fan of Gomez, and they stayed in touch since being spotted together at the Golden Globes in 2016.

The tipster claimed that it wasn’t the best time for Pitt to start a new romance when he met Gomez and added that there was definitely a spark between them. The insider also claimed that Gomez was attracted to Pitt. However, none of these claims have been proven to be true.
