They say believe half of what you see and none of what you hear -- and that seems to be the case when it comes to rumors surrounding Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Sources "directly connected" to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge insisted to TMZ that "there's been no falling out" between the royal couple. This comes after a video emerged of Kate seemingly shrugging off her husband. The entertainment site added that, according to the unidentified insider, "the whole interaction was taken out of context."

The brief moment occurred during the BBC special "A Berry Royal Christmas," where British food writer and presenter Mary Berry visits charities across the country. This year Berry accompanied The future King and Queen of England on four visits to charities they support.

Rejecting public displays of expression from a partner would typically signal that a relationship is not in the best place. In this case, however, many attributed Middleton's move to the couple's stance on PDA. While it's not necessarily a no-no as a royal, Kate and William likely wanted to maintain their professionalism.

"There is no actual etiquette or royal protocol that says the couple must refrain from PDA," royal etiquette expert Myka Meier explained. "The likely reasoning is more that while traveling on a tour such as the India trip, technically the couple is working representatives of British monarchy. The couple is likely to show very little PDA, if any, to remain professional during their designated roles abroad."

While insiders are claiming that the shrug meant nothing, these rumors are likely easier to deal with than the alleged cheating scandal that hit the Cambridge's earlier this year. While it's been widely accepted that there is no truth to the rumor Prince William stepped out with mutual friend Rose Hanbury, it has not been confirmed.
