The Truth About Meghan Markle Making Kate Middleton Cry Amid Rift

Their reported rift has become big news, but it appears any alleged drama between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton has been simmering for some time, as the Duchess of Sussex reportedly reduced her sister-in-law to tears in the lead up to her royal wedding earlier this year.

According to the Daily Telegraph (via the Daily Beast), the alleged moment where the relationship between the Duchess of Sussex and Duchess of Cambridge came ahead of the May 19 nuptials between the former actress and Prince Harry. Allegedly, Markle made Kate, who was emotional at the time following the birth of her son, Prince Louis, cry during a dress fitting for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid outfit.

According to The Telegraph’s Camilla Tominey, who was the first to break the story that Markle and Prince Harry were even dating, the former “Suits” star caused a bit of tension in the lead up to the wedding with a few people, most notably her future sister-in-law and even the Queen herself.

The report claimed to have spoken to two separate sources confirming that Middleton was left in tears after their confrontation, though it’s unclear what exactly led to the incident. However, some of it is believed to have been due to Middleton’s state of mind following the recent birth of her youngest child.

“Kate had only just given birth to Prince Louis and was feeling quite emotional,” a source reportedly said.

It also reportedly happened around the same time that Markle allegedly upset Queen Elizabeth herself by rejecting the tiara that had been offered to her initially and asking for one with an emerald. In the end, she reportedly still wore a diamond tiara instead because it was impossible to determine where the tiara she wanted to wear had come from.

At the time, Queen Elizabeth reportedly pulled Prince Harry aside to warn him about his future wife’s actions and how she spoke to others.

“There was a very heated exchange that prompted the Queen to speak to Harry,” a source said at the time. “She said ‘Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she’s given by me.’”
